Overview
In a nutshell
Koongo Service comes with the same features as the Connector for Magento 1 and Magento 2 as well as with the same supported feeds and channels. However, Koongo Service has the advantage of automatic integration with selected channels through the means of API and provides feed/channel performance tracking. With the Connector, you set up all the settings from within your Magento backend. The Koongo Service is located on Koongo servers.
To understand the scope of Koongo products and services and to be able to distinguish between them you need to be briefly familiarized with Koongo history.
We distinguish between Magento and non-Magento shopping platforms simply because Koongo started back in 2007 as a simple stand-alone module available only for the Magento platform, called currently Connector for Magento (or Connector).
In 2013 we introduced a new product, Koongo as Service (or Service). In the beginning, the Service was available only for the Lightspeed users. Over time, we added other platforms - Prestashop, CCV Shop, Shopify, WooCommerce, etc. (see the list of all supported shopping platforms).
Finally, in 2015 the Service became available also for Magento users. It allows Magento users to choose between the Connector and the Service, depending on their specific needs.
For that reason, Koongo offers for Magento users two products (Connector and Service) while for all other shopping platforms Koongo has 'only' the Service available.
Connector for Magento and Magento 2 (Connector)

Please note that the Connector is available only for Magento 1 & 2 users.
Connector for Magento 1 & 2 is the stand-alone extension for Magento, in Magento terminology called module. You can install the Connector on your Magento instance using the Magento Connect Manager. You manage all the feeds and channels from within your Magento backend.

Koongo as a Service (Service)
For all supported shopping platforms
Please note that the Koongo Service is available for all supported shopping platforms, except Magento 2. For Magento 2, Koongo offers only the Connector for Magento 2.
Koongo as a Service is Koongo developed tool with our own user interface (UI). To activate the Koongo Service, you need to install an app (for Lightspeed, CCV Shop or Shopify) or set up API integration (for Magento or Prestashop).
